RAD-140, also known as testolone, was found to increase body weight by an average of 10% in juvenile macaques during a 28-day test period, even at the lowest dose range of 0.1 mg/kg. This body weight was primarily confirmed to be lean body mass via DEXA scans performed before and after the trial period, however, this result was somewhat varied.
In another study, male rats were orally provided with 1 mg/kg a day of RAD 140 for two weeks. Due to the role MAPK signaling plays in neuroprotection, RAD-140 was able to significantly reduce; apoptosis caused by Aᵝ, apoptosis activator II, kainate-induced neuron death, and hydrogen peroxide.
